[EBO] more than rose to the challenge. It felt like a true development partnership with staff from both EBO and BCU forming a cohesive team.
Olea Venture Partners invests in EBO to accelerate proven AI adoption in healthcare
Healthcare and life sciences investor backs EBO’s expansion across healthcare systems, supporting wider adoption of its AI-powered patient engagement and workflow automation platform across Europe and into the United States.

Olea Venture Partners, a healthcare and life sciences investor, has completed an investment in EBO, a provider of AI-powered patient engagement solutions, to support the next phase of the company’s growth.
The investment will accelerate adoption of EBO’s technology across health systems and healthcare providers, support expansion into new clinical and operational workflows, and fund further international expansion across Europe and into the United States.
“In a field still defined by promise, EBO is defined by proof. The company is already delivering measurable impact in some of the most complex healthcare environments, with patient adoption rates of up to 97%, significant operational capacity released for hospital teams and customer ROI of up to 5x.”

Backed by the European Investment Fund and supported by EquiFund II, Olea combines growth capital with hands-on strategic and operational support, drawing on experience across AI, healthcare, science and commercialisation.
EBO’s AI technology automates complex patient interactions, including appointment management, self-assessments and pathway communications, delivering improved patient experiences and sustained operating savings.
The platform operates as infrastructure inside regulated healthcare workflows, not as a standalone AI tool.
"What stands out about EBO is that it solves a clear operational need with a platform built for healthcare and proven adoption across markets. The next phase is about scaling what already works. Olea will support the EBO team as it deepens adoption across the UK, strengthens its Southeast European presence, and enters the United States with a particular focus on health-system partnerships, commercial strategy and building a repeatable model for international expansion.”
Dr. Lampros Kourtis
Managing Partner at Olea Venture Partners
The company has established commercial operations in the UK, Italy, Greece and Malta, with 24 live deployments across UK NHS Trusts and hospitals.
Dr. Harietta Eleftherochorinou said:
“Gege and the EBO team have shown that they can do what remains difficult in healthcare AI: move from promising technology to trusted, repeatable deployment in real health systems. They can navigate complex integrations, meet the governance and safety standards of healthcare systems, and get the technology adopted in day-to-day clinical and operational workflows.”
Making access to care simpler, more inclusive and more human
Dr. Gege Gatt, CEO and Founder of EBO, said, “This investment is a vote of confidence in EBO and in the scale of the opportunity ahead. With Olea, we have a partner who understands that healthcare innovation succeeds through trust, evidence and disciplined execution.”
“Together, we will help more healthcare organisations make patient access simpler, release capacity for their teams and adopt AI responsibly within the systems and safeguards they already rely on.”
The investment marks the next stage in EBO’s growth as the company scales a healthcare AI platform already deployed across multiple markets and clinical environments.

Our booking officers absolutely love our Virtual Assistant Alex, since it does the legwork and they can focus on the patient. Over the last six months, Alex has helped save 24 hours of staff time every week. Our callers come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, so we worked with our communication to make sure Alex understands all our patients and the different ways they communicate.

The experience of working with EBO on our Virtual Assistant has been very positive. EBO and Servelec listened to our feedback and helped design AI solutions that benefit our patients by providing an alternative way they interact with the trust.

I think where we really found the stress is on the admin. A lot of our service users are calling us, which means that our lines are continuously busy and admins miss some of the calls, as they are on the phone with another service user at the time. It means that people are trying to get in contact till the late evening when the services are closed. It really opened up our eyes to see that there are other ways our clients can communicate with us and there are other ways that we can communicate with the clients. It actually works for them.

“Working with EBO is like ‘a breath of fresh air’. They have a deep-seated ‘can-do’ ethos to delivering successful solutions and our collaboration functions as a true partnership. The EBO Virtual Assistant is a new technology for us with great potential as it integrates directly with our Electronic Patient Record. We initiated a pilot with EBO on e-Consent and are already lined up for rolling out pre-assessment and appointment modules.¨
